China to House Shipwreck in Underwater Museum

According to the Chinese newspaper, the Daily Times, China is building a giant underwater museum to preserve and exhibit an ancient shipwreck. The museum, the first of its kind in the world, is to contain an 800 year old sunken ship and its cargo of treasures.

Hard Hat Hero Will Have Ship Named In His Honour

Navy officials have announced the names for two dry-cargo supply ships being built in San Diego, California. One of the ships will be called the Brashear in honour of the late Navy diver Carl Brashear. The other ship will honour astronaut Wally Schirra who flew in space three times.

Cobble Hill Diver's Device to Make Surfacing Safer

The Victoria, British Columbia newspaper, the Times Colonist, has reported on a local company that has developed a safety device for divers. The device is called the Miniature Ascent Rate Alarm. According to the Times Colonist, the “Miniature Ascent Rate Alarm, or MARA, fits on a mask near the diver's ear and sounds a series of alarms if the diver is ascending too fast.”

Loves Park Dive Museum Surfaces

This August the Aurora St. Luke's Medical Centre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will begin to treat patients in what will be North America's second largest hyperbaric chamber. Milwaukee is a major hub for Lake Michigan shipwreck divers.

US Prez Election Comes Early and Deep in Florida Keys
