Turkey knows how to bring the house down on dive shows! In May, the Seventh International Underwater Days Exhibition ended with the sinking of a mothballed Coast Guard ship!

The conference, held in Kemer, Turkey, is staged to promote the   natural and archaeological values found in the Turkish Mediterranean. It was organized by the European Underwater Images Festivals Association and the Mediterranean Underwater Archaeological Research Center.

According to a Turkish news agency release "a 32-meter boat donated by the Turkish Coast Guard was placed (underwater) at Üç Adalar (Three Islands) offshore from Kemer. The boat is expected to become an alternative diving spot and a shelter for fish."
