Stephen Weir is a well-known Toronto based communicator. He has been writing and taking photographs for Diver Magazine for almost 30 years.
Campter and Nicholsons Marina is expanding and moderinzing the Port Louis Marina on the island of Grenada. When completed the marina will be able to offer more than 350 berths for craft from 10m to 90m in length.
In getting the site ready, the company has removed two abandoned boats from the yard and donated them to the Grenada Scuba Diving Assocation. The dive community has taken those ships out to sea and sunk them, creating two new dive and snorkel sites.
Last month a barge was removed from the marina and sunk in Dragon Bay. The new wreck is in shallow water, and will soon be a snorkelling destination.
The latest ship to be taken from the marina is Daisy, a Cuba fishing boat. What makes the Daisy unique is that her hull is 
made from concrete. According to Barnacle Grenada, an island newspaper, the 30-year old vessel is being sunk off Grand Anse Beach.
“The island currently boasts 16 wrecks and now a 50ft Cuban fishing vessel will become the 17th wreck in Grenada’s diving portfolio.”
