Will the power of the Internet be able to attract over a 1,000 people to an Ohio quarry next July?  A group of Great Lakes divers wanting to set a Guinness World record hope so. They are contacting dive related websites and Blogs to publicize their attempt to break the current record for 'the Most Divers Submerged at One Time'.

The dive will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Gilboa Quarry but, as the organizer says, “the party will be happening all weekend.”  The Gilboa Quarry is near the town of Ottawa, Ohio; it is 70 ft deep and has marked sites for all levels of diving ability. All certified divers are invited to take part in the record-breaking dive.  www.divegilboa.com
